What is Zogoflex®?
Zogoflex is amazingly tough material that is buoyant, pliable, and designed to be recyclable, to create virtually no waste during our manufacturing process. Non-toxic and FDA compliant, our Zogoflex® material is made in the USA to create dog toys that are both fun and durable, such as Hurley™, Huck, Zisc™, and our newest toy, Tux™ - all are guaranteed by West Paw Design against dog damage - yep, it's that tough!
You'll be happy to know that Zogoflex® does not contain, nor does any of its components contain any known sources of lead, cadmium, mercury, latex, natural rubber, phthalates, hormones, or asbestos. We are proud of our little number 7 recycled symbol!
Number 7 Recyclable Symbol - for Zogoflex
You can rest at ease, knowing that Zogoflex toys are safe, non-toxic and free of bisphenol A (BPA).
Zogoflex® dog toys are made from a proprietary plastic that falls under the SPI resin identification code of a # 7 (♹). Unfortunately, there are quite a few plastics that fall under #7 - and some aren’t safe like Zogoflex... so it is understandable that seeing this symbol can initially raise a red flag.
However, the recycling plastic symbols are not intended to be safety indicators. They are simply intended to help with the classification of plastics for recycling. In 1988 when the Society of the Plastic Industry (SPI) created symbols for some of the most commonly used recycled plastic resins, they sorted the most common plastic into six groups. For all the other resins that didn’t fit into any of the first six categories, they created an additional “other” category... which is #7. According to the SPI, they are working to clean up the #7 category and create more symbols.
For now, the #7 group is much like that catch-all kitchen drawer in your home -- full of many different plastic resins that didn't fit nicely into one of the other drawers. And similar to that catch-all kitchen drawer... there are some great things stored among all the clutter that you love.
Zogoflex is a type of plastic (even though it feels like a rubber material) that we use to make our guaranteed tough dog toys. We are happy to report that Zogoflex® is non-toxic and FDA compliant. These made in the USA dog toys do not contain (nor do any of its components contain) any known sources of lead, cadmium, mercury, latex, natural rubber, phthalates, hormones, Bisphenol A (BPA), or asbestos.
The fact that Zogoflex is a plastic is the reason why these interactive dog toys bounce, float, and are so durable -- we even guarantee them against dog damage! Not only that, but since they are recyclable, the manufacturing process is virtually waste free.
How does the Guarantee Work?
Have a dog that was able to damage our Zogoflex® Toy? Well, you must have one amazingly powerful chewer - the return rate is less than 1%. You may choose to recieve a free one-time replacement or refund - your choice! You may check with your local pet store that carries West Paw Design or mail us directly with the following:
1. A quick note to let us know the breed and age of your dog, and how long it took your furry friend to damage the toy. (This is optional, but we love the feedback).
2. Let us know if you would like a replacement or a refund.
3. Include the damaged toy and proof of purchase. Not only do we inspect the returned toys for weaknesses, but we also recycle them!
4. Be sure to include your own contact information so we know where to return the new toy or refund.
5. Mail the above to: West Paw Design Attn: Zogoflex Warranty 32050 E. Frontage Road Bozeman, MT 59715
Is Zogoflex® Dishwasher safe?
Yes! Did your toy get a little muddy? Throw it in the top shelf of your dishwasher and your Zogoflex® toy will come out clean and looking like new!
How many times can I return a toy for a free replacement?
Just one time per product line, per customer. Is your dog the back up "jaws of life" for your local fire department? Was your pooch so strong that he was actually able to damage our toy and you already received our one-time free replacement, but you found a different toy made from our Zogoflex® material that you think may last longer due to its size and shape? Go ahead and give it a try. You may be pleasantly surprised, due to the different shapes and sizes of the toys we've heard feedback that while a few dogs can damage one style of toy, they cannot actually damage another style. And if your dog is capable of damaging the new style of toy, go ahead and send it in and we'll offer a one-time replacement for this particular style of Zogoflex® toy. So to break it down, you can get one replacement Hurley, one replacement Huck, one replacement Zisc, and one replacement Tux.
