Vurv Design uses a polyurethane varnish on all their pet products. Not only does this finish have very good water resistance and a tough finish, it also has a warm soft glow that laquer or conversion finishes are lacking. It also requires much lower levels of solvent in its application than laquer does. This means less pollution. The disadvantage to this high quality type of finish is the long curing time - and this is the main reason it is not used by more professionals. Vurv Design uses a HVLP (high volume, low pressure) spray system to apply this finish, which has 65 - 90% efficiency, versus only 20% - 30% efficiency on a conventional spray system. (Environmentally friendly)
